Royal fans have been hoping for a long while that the Cambridge family would grow by one more and that there would be an announcement that Kate Middleton is expecting baby number four. However, those hoping she may already be pregnant might need to wait on the excitement, because the Duchess has likely dropped a big hint that she isn’t expecting baby number four.

According to Express UK, the fact that Middleton participated in the King’s Cup Regatta earlier this week is likely a hint that the Duchess of Cambridge is not currently expecting a fourth child, because if she was pregnant, she would most likely be suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum once again—and the last place she’d want to be with that extreme form of morning sickness is on a boat that was rocking over open waters.

The Duchess dealt with bouts of the form of morning sickness that was so severe during her first pregnancy with Prince George that she was hospitalized, and the condition has led to her canceling appearances before, which forced her to also reveal her pregnancies to the public before the recommended 12-week waiting period.

It is worth noting that in addition to participating in the boat race, though she did take the last few weeks off for an annual vacation with her husband and children, Middleton has not missed any of her other appearances and events that have been on her calendar, which is another big sign the Duchess isn’t currently expecting.

Of course, just because she may not currently be pregnant with a fourth child doesn’t mean Middleton wouldn’t consider having one more baby in the future, as it’s even been reported that she prefers the more quiet life of being a mother, and could see having another child as a way to reduce her royal duties.

“Not only does she love family life in Norfolk, to be honest, it gives her an excuse to not be at the forefront of royal duties for a bit longer, which I don’t think she enjoys,” royal expert Phil Dampier sad previously. “I think Kate’s been interacting with the public and doing very well recently, but from what I'm told, she’d rather be at home with the children.”
