Kate Middleton and Prince William were accused of copying Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s photo.

On Christmas Day, Kensington Palace shared a new family photo of the Cambridges. In the snap, Prince William is seen kissing his youngest son Louis while Princess Charlotte stands behind him and Prince George sits on a chair. Middleton is noticeably missing in the shot because she was the one captured it.

While many praised the intimate photo of the family, some royal fans criticized it because according to them, the Cambridges copied Prince Harry and Markle’s Christmas card simply because the shot was in black and white.

“Imitation is the best form of flattery - or however the saying goes. It's nice to see KP staying consistent in ‘imitating’ The Sussexes. The black and white filter ... The PDA ... Wheeew. Must be nice to know you can't think of your own ideas. Merry Christmas,” one commented on Twitter.

Another social media user accused the future king and queen of being jealous of Prince Harry and Markle. The netizen said that they waited after the Sussexes posted their Christmas card to release the said picture because they don’t like it when the attention isn’t on them.

Prince William and Middleton’s supporters were quick to defend the couple. One said that Prince William and Middleton have been releasing black and white photos even before Prince Harry and Markle got married. The same user shared an old photo of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in black and white and asked, “And since when using a colour is copyrighted? Google and you won’t dye [sic] ignorant!” @EnkiBallabani99 commented.

A different user sarcastically attacked the Sussexes by implying that their photo on their Christmas card was digitally altered. “No photoshopping there then. A proper family picture,” the user commented on the Cambridge’s photo.

Prince Harry and Markle’s photo on their Christmas e-card sparked controversy, with some of their critics saying that it was photoshopped. One said that Markle’s face was very clear while her surrounding was blurry. Another commented that the rugs between the duke and duchess were not the same. A different Twitter user said that it was digitally altered because Prince Harry and Markle were actually not together.
