Kate Middleton and Prince William's behavior in their last public reunion with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continues to haunt them.

In an op-ed for The Guardian, British journalist Catherine Bennett shared her opinion about the last sighting of the fab four. On March 9, they reunited for the Commonwealth Day service. However, many noticed that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were cold toward the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Prince William and Middleton spoke with Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, before they took their seats. However, they were accused of snubbing Prince Harry and Markle because they barely acknowledged them. Middleton didn’t even look at them.

Bennett noted how Middleton couldn’t manage to grin or even bear one more hour with her in-laws. She also pointed out how the royal mother of three demonstrated professionalism toward Narendra Modi, Donald Trump and Xi Jinping but denied the same favor to Prince Harry and Markle. She felt that they were bearing grudges against their relatives who are leaving the royal family.

“It presumably strikes the Cambridges as worse than – to pick at random, from the above guests’ specialities – sexual predation, brutal dictatorship and tolerating extreme violence against women and girls,” she wrote.

Hilary Mantel’s 2013 essay on royal wives was criticized because many felt that she disrespected Middleton when she wrote that the Duchess of Cambridge was expected to “breed in some manners.” Bennett felt that was how Middleton behaved in the last sighting with the Sussexes.

“That their proximity was enough, however, to make at least two royal masks slip, perhaps exposes the misery, as well as the cultivated pettiness, of those left behind in captivity,” she added.

Several Twitter users reacted to Bennett’s article and they agreed with it. In fact, many praised Bennett and several mocked the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

“Everyone saw it but very very few have reported or written about it,” @Lena50289422 wrote.

“Great article. I do feel though, that K's behaviour goes beyond this. I think she is deeply unhappy and it only shows when she thinks no-one is watching,” @Daisy1158 added.

“Expensively educated but ZERO class them Cambridges Someone up there is having Harry and Meghan's backs,” @orlane_murielle opined.

Body language expert Bianca Cobb said that Prince Harry was a little uneasy while Markle was more confident during the Commonwealth Service. She also noted that there was “zero acknowledgment” from Middleton when they arrived on their seats.
