Kate Middleton and Prince William are very careful not to overshadow Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are currently stepping up while Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles are quarantining. Although Prince William and Middleton are the most visible senior royal at the time, they are very careful not to overshadow the heir apparent.

Just recently, Prince William and Middleton appeared on BBC’s Breakfast and he compared their appearance with Prince Charles’ piece. The royal expert noted how they balanced their activities.

“William and Kate spoke openly about the effect the lockdown was having on them on BBC Breakfast,” Fitzwilliams said. “Charles has written about how he and Camilla are coping in Country Life and the loving photo of him with Louis also showed the bond he is establishing with his grandchildren.”

She noted that the Cambridges have a “skillful teamwork” with the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall because they were careful not to overlap each other by not talking about the same issue.

“This is skillful teamwork too. In recent months Meghan and Harry did not seem to care if their activities clashed with those of other senior royals and this is no longer the concern it once was,” he added.

Meanwhile, there are rumors that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have taken over the throne. The two reportedly have a “dramatic first days as king and queen.” Royal expert Phil Dampier was expecting it.

“Obviously Kate and William have a very important role to play,” the expert said. “They are going to be the only visible royals – the face of the royal family.”

Prince William and Middleton’s ascension was regarded highly because it happened after Prince Harry and Markle stepped down from their royal roles. Many took Prince William’s coronavirus speech as a hint that he was taking a bigger role because he was the first royal to speak about the pandemic.

“They hopefully appeal more than the Queen to a younger generation, a lot of whom possibly aren’t taking in how serious coronavirus is,” Dampier added.

“People look up to them and they’ll bring strength and support. William has already done one video message and I think that’s possibly the way forward. They’re not going to take any unnecessary risks but will do as much as they can.”
