Kate Middleton and Prince William are losing followers after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry launched their own social media account.

Just recently, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced their official Instagram account and their fans were overjoyed. Their separate social media account was expected following their split from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Prior to the fab four’s separation, their social media presence was managed by Kensington Palace. Since Prince Harry and Markle will have their own communication team, they were removed from the palace’s profile.

Now that Markle and Prince Harry have their own social media account, their fans opted to unfollow the Kensington Palace and this resulted to Middleton and Prince William losing followers.

“Okay time to unfollow Kensington,” one netizen wrote shortly after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Instagram was announced.

“HARRY AND MEGHAN HAVE GOTTEN THEIR OWN SOCIAL MEDIA!!! WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE! I can finally unfollow kensington palace's ass,” a different user posted.

“so happy i can unfollow kensington palace and just get that meghan x harry content,” Zeek Braverman wrote.

As of late, there is no actual number as to how many followers Prince William and Middleton lost but a number of netizens who were unhappy with the way Markle was managed by Kensington Palace online decided to only follow the Sussexes. As of this writing, Prince Harry and Markle’s Instagram account has already amassed 1.5 million followers.

Another user predicted that more people will unfollow Kensington when Prince William and Markle’s baby arrives.

Meanwhile, another user named Elan is happy that Kensington Palace is now only representing Prince William and Middleton. She hoped that the “hateful comments and insane arguments” would stop now that the fab four have separate profiles on Instagram.

In related news, Prince Harry and Markle were snubbed by a royal writer and TV producer over Middleton’s mom Carole. According to Daisy Goodwin, people asked her if she wanted to write a drama about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. However, she found Carole more interesting compared to the couple, adding that the Middleton matriarch “has an extraordinary story.”
