Kate Middleton’s mom Carole is more interesting than Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

TV producer Daisy Goodwin was asked if she wanted to write a drama about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. However, she said that she’s more interested in writing a show about Carole than Prince Harry and Markle.

“People ask me if I’d like to write a drama about Harry and Meghan but I actually think I would like to write about Carole Middleton,” Goodwin said, adding that Middleton’s mom “has an extraordinary story.”

“She is a very, very interesting woman and she deserves a series,” she added.

Goodwin also addressed the alleged falling-out between the Duchess of Cambridge and Duchess of Sussex. According to her when she learned that Markle got engaged to Prince Harry, she thought: “How long will it be before we decide it's daggers drawn.” The royal writer said that the things happening among the royals are to be expected and something like this isn’t new.

“If you go back to the 19th Century there are lots of instances with the royals of how Princess Alexandra wouldn't talk to the Grand Duchess Maria or how Princess Louise is supposedly having an affair with the husband of another sister,” Goodwin explained.

In related news, according to Matthew Bell in a 2005 report for The Spectator magazine, it was Carole who convinced Middleton to attend Saint Andrews after learning that Prince William would be attending the same university. Middleton’s first choice was Edinburgh.

However, according to royal biographer Katie Nicholl, it was Middleton, herself, who plotted her way to Saint Andrews. The duchess even took a gap year, so she would be an undergraduate at the same time as the royal prince.

Carole has been praised for being a hands-on grandmother to Prince William and Middleton’s children. According to Amanda Platell, a journalist for Daily Mail, she’s a “model of discretion” when it comes to Middleton’s royal duties.

The Duchess of Cambridge can turn to Carole any time for support and she “never steals the royal limelight” from her daughter. Platell’s comment came after Markle and Doria Ragland’s double act where Doria outshined Markle during the Duchess of Sussex’s cookbook launch.
