Kate Middleton was reportedly “upset” over her and husband Prince William’s split from Prince Harry, Meghan Markle.

Prince Harry was very close to Prince William and Middleton before he dated and married Markle. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke of Sussex often attended royal engagements together, prompting royal fans to dub them “the royal trio.”

However, things changed after Prince Harry started his own family. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex left Kensington Palace and moved to Frogmore Cottage. They also decided to leave the charity that the three royals started, which broke Middleton’s heart.

“Kate has been left really rattled by her and Wills’ split from Harry and Meghan,” a source told New Idea.

“She’s incredibly upset by the whole situation and can’t believe it’s come to this – and things have ended so badly between the four of them. This sort of public split is her worst nightmare come true.”

The insider added that Middleton took off to Balmoral to get out of the spotlight for a while and collect her thoughts. She felt like 2019 has been one drama after another and their public split from Prince Harry and Markle was the last straw.

The rumored feud involving the fab four worsened after Prince Harry and Markle made a “tactless jibe ” against the Cambridges. Many felt that Prince Harry was throwing shade at his older brother when he said he only wanted two kids to save the planet. Prince William is already a father of three.

Meanwhile, many felt that Markle did the same thing to Middleton when she declined to grace the cover of the British Vogue issue she co-edited because she did not want to appear “boastful.” Middleton appeared on the cover of the magazine in 2016 for its centenary issue.

Prince William and Middleton were accused of trolling Prince Harry and Markle when they took a commercial flight to Balmoral two weeks ago. Many questioned the timing of the Cambridges taking a budget flight because it happened amid the intense backlash thrown at the Sussexes for taking four private flights in 11 days.

According to royal expert Phil Dampier, the split was a massive mistake. It appeared to him that the Cambridges and Sussexes are pitting against each other professionally and personally.
