Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are busy planning their wedding, but they are in no hurry to fix the date yet. In a recent interview, the singer shared some details about how she is preparing for the marriage by laying a strong foundation.

In a recent interview with “KIIS 1065’s The Kyle & Jackie O Show,” Perry was asked if there was going to be a wedding this year or if she was planning a long engagement. The singer said that they are doing “really great,” and that they are “laying a beautiful foundation” before building a “monster house.”

Elaborating on the “monster house” comment, Perry said that she was speaking figuratively. The singer added that they as a couple have to “do the work” before taking the next big step in their relationship. So, there is a lot of work that needs to be done for them “emotionally” before the marriage.

Perry pointed out that both she and her fiancé Bloom have been married before. So, things will be different for them. The singer explained that the marriage at this stage in their lives is different from what it was like for them when they were younger.

Bloom was married to Miranda Kerr in July 2010. Perry on the other hand married Russell Brand in the same year.

Perry and Bloom have been dating on and off since 2016, People reported. They got engaged earlier this year.

While Perry appeared to hint that they are taking things slow when it comes to the marriage, a source close to the couple told People that they have hired a wedding planner already. The two celebrities are reportedly planning a “smaller and intimate” wedding later this year, and they are currently being “secretive” about their plans.

Although Perry and Bloom are busy with the wedding planning, the insider revealed that they are not stressed about it. The two of them are reportedly planning a “fun celebration” for friends and family.
