Kelly Clarkson previously said she hoped she was pregnant with a baby boy, and the former "American Idol" winner got her wish. Clarkson took to Instagram Friday to share a photo of her 14-month-old daughter, River Rose, playing on a slide and announced she was expecting a baby boy.

"In other news, River's gonna have a little baby brother," Clarkson captioned the photo. "#itsaboy. We're so excited."

During a radio interview with Zach Sang and the Gang in April, months before her big announcement, Clarkson revealed that she struggled to get through her first pregnancy with River but wanted to try again.

“My body shut down when I [was] pregnant, it was the worst," she said. "I just want one more so I just got to pain through it one more time. I’m purely hoping it is a boy so I can have the most magically wonderful pregnancy.”

The "Heartbeat Song" singer announced her second pregnancy in August during a Los Angeles concert at the Staples Center on her "Piece By Piece" tour. Clarkson kept getting emotional during one of her songs and decided to tell the audience what was going on, Us Weekly reported.

“I was not planning on announcing this but I’m totally pregnant,” the 33-year-old said, explaining that she wanted to spill the beans so no one thought she was "crazy."

The "Stronger" singer has been pretty vocal about her pregnancy and often updates fans on how she’s doing. In September, she tweeted about some of her pregnancy cravings, writing that she really wanted some "pickles, green olives, cheese and crackers."

Clarkson and her husband, Brandon Blackstock, welcomed their first child together in June 2014. The singer is also step-mom to Blackstock's two children, Savannah and Seth, from a previous marriage.
