Kevin Durant has finally agreed to sign a max deal with the Brooklyn Nets.

Things are starting to settle down for NBA superstar Kevin Durant as he finally confirmed his switch to the Brooklyn Nets. Instagram page The Boardroom, an online series looking at sports business produced by Durant himself and business partner Rich Kleiman, posted the big announcement Sunday that the 2018 Finals MVP will sign a max contract with the Nets as soon as the free agent moratorium ends on July 6.

Durant’s decision has been one of the most anticipated free agency moves this offseason. Ever since Durant’s injury, the Nets have been linked with the superstar, with reports claiming that the team has been making advances to acquire Durant.

Just a few days ago, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst and NBA veteran Kendrick Perkins both confirmed the rumors that Brooklyn is “gaining confidence” in signing Durant as the team has been making progress for the last couple of weeks. Perkins even described the Nets as the “frontrunners” to land the two-time Finals MVP.

Even when Durant was in New York for his surgery, rumors still plagued the superstar as news of him and Kyrie Irving personally meeting each other in the Big Apple surfaced. Irving, for his part, has also been a target of the Nets almost this entire offseason.

The latest on Irving revealed that things between Brooklyn and the All Star point guard are already set and that he has committed to signing with the team as well.

Another big name is being linked with Durant these past few days as his latest NBA Finals nemesis, Kawhi Leonard, is reportedly headed to the Knicks together with him. Rumor has it that Leonard and Durant apparently discussed teaming up for next season, and the Knicks and the Clippers were reportedly the most likely landing spots for the two superstars, Daily Knicks reported.

All of that is history now as Durant is just days away from becoming a Brooklyn Nets superstar. However, a ruptured right Achilles tendon could be the reason for him to not be able to play a single game wearing a Brooklyn jersey next season.

Durant has won championships with the Golden State Warriors, and it is not impossible that fans will assume that KD will bring the championship to Brooklyn. As things get clearer for the Nets, the next big question is, who will be Durant’s co-star in Brooklyn?
