KEY POINTS

  • Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from Kanye West in February
  • The pair is committed to co-parenting their four children together
  • Kanye's bizarre 2020 presidential run was reportedly "the last straw" for Kim

Kim Kardashian paid tribute to Kanye West on his 44th birthday Tuesday, saying she will love the rapper "for life."

The social media maven penned a short but sweet message for the "Flashing Lights" hitmaker. "Happy Birthday Love U for Life!" Kim wrote alongside an old snap of them with their three kids – North, Saint and Chicago.

The Instagram post has already garnered more than 3.6 million likes.

Kim also shared a throwback image of Kanye with all their four kids and a Polaroid of the "Gold Digger" rapper from 1987 on her Instagram Story. "Happy BDay," the "Keeping Up with The Kardashian" star wrote.

Kim's birthday tributes to Kanye prove the pair's cordiality since the reality star filed for divorce from the American singer-record producer in February. TMZ reported that the daughter of Kris Jenner filed for joint legal and physical custody of their children.

Sources told the publication that Kim and Kanye were committed to co-parenting together. While there was a prenup, neither of the two stars was contesting it. The pair was "far along" in reaching a property settlement agreement as well, TMZ reported at the time.

"Money [Kim] earns from … the Kardashian clothing line and promotional appearances, will be considered her separate and sole income," the prenup reportedly states. It also guarantees Kim $1 million for every year of marriage and she can keep the income from her family's reality show.

Other reports said Kanye's 2020 presidential run was "the last straw" for Kim. Some informants claimed that the "Fade" rapper is sick of being involved with the Kardashian, especially Kris who gives great importance to all the big decisions she makes.

"He understands Kim's side has to spin that she is sick of him … He is quite familiar with what the Kardashian public relations machine is capable of, and thinks it’s funny that her team is blaming his presidential run on the marriage disintegration," the insider told Page Six.
