Kim Kardashian received massive backlash for hanging out with her sister Khloé Kardashian's cheating ex-boyfriend, Tristan Thompson, at a "Friendsgiving" celebration this week.

The 42-year-old Skims founder posted about the pre-Thanksgiving outing on Instagram Thursday, where she and the 31-year-old NBA star visited the Camp Kilpatrick juvenile center in Los Angeles, California, to have dinner with young men ahead of the annual holiday.

"This year, I'm really thankful for the people I have met in all of the prisons around the country. This week @realtristan13 and I had an inspiring Friendsgiving dinner with the young men incarcerated at Camp Kilpatrick," Kim captioned her post that featured a series of photos from the event.

She continued, "These young men have earned their way to this model camp in Malibu for great behavior. Many are in college classes and have made huge changes in their life. My favorite part [of] our dinner was going around the table and hearing what their dreams and aspirations are. I can't wait to see them all come true," adding a thank you to the facility staff for having them at the camp.

In one of the pictures, the business mogul huddled with the young men, and she stood next to Thompson.

Although the post was meant to share a wholesome event, for Kim has been a vocal supporter of criminal justice reform in the past, some fans criticized the reality star for having Thompson tag along during the dinner.

"Why are [you] doing this with Tristan after what he did to [your] sister? Please make it make sense," one user wrote.

"Should've left Tristan there to learn a thing or two about bettering himself," another commented, while another quipped, "You left Tristan at the jail, right?"

"Why the hell is trashtan there," a different user wrote, combining Thompson's first name with the word trash.

"Kim what we aren't going to do is make Tristan the enemy and then try to give him his redemption arc. Blur his face out lol," another user wrote.

But the post, which has garnered more than one million likes and nearly ten thousand comments, also received supportive comments from fans, praising the reality star for using her platform to inspire others.

"You are amazing, [and] I love everything that u do with your platform," one user said.

Another commented, "This is amazing! You're inspiring Kim. God bless you," while another said, "So proud of you [Kim]."

Thompson and Khloé dated for about two years before calling it quits after the former got caught in multiple cheating scandals throughout their relationship. The exes, however, reconciled in August 2020 and had an on-again, off-again relationship.

The NBA player, who shares 4-year-old daughter True and a still-unnamed 3-month-old son with the Good American founder, was first caught cheating with Kylie Jenner's former best friend, Jordyn Woods, at a party the weekend before Khloé welcomed their daughter in 2018, Page Six reported.

Most recently, Thompson made the headlines following the revelation that he was having a baby with Maralee Nichols, who gave birth to their son Theo, born in December last year. The basketball player initially denied being the father, but a paternity test proved their compatibility, the outlet noted.

Thompson and Khloé's relationship seemingly ended after the scandal, but they have decided to co-parent their two children.
