August seems to be the date in which players will return to the land of Amalur. “Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning” has allegedly been leaked, arriving on the Xbox One on August 11, 2020. The latest game is revealed to be a re-master of 2012’s “Reckoning.”

According to Gamespot, the product description on the Xbox website might have revealed the games' release date. In-game images were also spotted, which appeared to show the graphical improvements it received. While the information appears to have been released too soon, THQ Nordic has not issued any announcement dates to introduce their new game. This is one possible proof that there might have been some mistakes made on the part of the developer.

In addition, the re-release of the game will need approval from its former publisher EA Games. WhenTHQ Nordic acquired the rights to the game, they found out that EA still has publishing rights to the franchise. Reports have said that the two companies appeared to have reached an agreement regarding the game's future release.

THQ Nordic managed to get the rights of the game after the fallout of 38 Studios following a lawsuit filed by the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation. The studios’ owner, ex-Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling, failed to pay a $75 million dollar loan given to them by the company.

Aside from major improvements in the games' graphics, according to IGN, the remaster will include all DLCs that were previously released with the old “Kingdoms of Amalur,” namely, "Teeth of Naros" and "Legend of Dead Kel."

The game is written by R.A Salvatore, with designs also added by “Spawn” creator Todd McFarlane and Ken Rolston, lead designer for “Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.”

The original game was released in 2012 by developer 38 Studios and was published by EA. It is making a comeback through THQ Nordic and German studio Kaiko which handles the projects' release.

It remains to be seen how the rumored Aug. 11 release of the game will go, following the current situation with the COVID-19 pandemic right now.
