Kirsten Dunst recalled the “overwhelming” feeling she had while filming a scene for the historical 2006 film, “Marie Antoinette,” when she was just 22.

Dunst, 39, reunited with her co-star Jamie Dornan with Variety’s Actors on Actors to talk about their time on the set of the movie. The actress reflected on a particular awkward moment when she had to undress for a steamy scene in the movie.

“It’s never comfortable, ever. I think my first time I even showed my breasts was with Sofia (Coppola). She never used the take, and I don’t even think you were there. I felt overwhelmed too,” she told Dornan who played Count Axel Fersen, a friend of Antoinette who hails from the Swedish court.

The “Fifty Shades of Grey” actor replied: “That’s crazy to know. I mean, you handled it well. I thought you were in control of everything. I remember we had to improvise, and Sofia did this thing of how we didn’t really meet until we met in the scene.”

Dornan also recalled that they both turned 22 while filming the movie although the actress’ birthday celebration was more festive compared to his.

Dunst previously spoke about how Coppola made her feel “beautiful” while filming the 2000 movie “The Virgin Suicides” despite pressure from producers who wanted her to fix her teeth.

"This movie holds such a dear place in my heart because it was the first time I worked with Sofia," she said in a video for Netflix. "It was the first time I was seen as like a beautiful woman and have it be a female who gave me that (sic)…she made me feel beautiful for who I was and that was a very pivotal time in my life to feel that way,” she added.

Both Dunst and Dornan recently portrayed parent roles whose families are confronted with struggles.

Dunst starred on Netflix’s “The Power Of The Dog” as a widow named Rose whose life is forever changed when she and her son move in with her new husband on a ranch co-owned by her domineering brother-in-law.

Meanwhile, Dornan played Kenneth Branagh’s father in the latter’s autobiographical film, “Belfast,” which was released in November 2021.
