Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler’s divorce is not as amicable as it seems.

On Sunday, Cavallari and Cutler both announced on social media that they are parting ways after 10 years of being together. It turned out that Cutler initiated the divorce on April 21 and Cavallari filed her paperwork on April 24.

Us Weekly obtained a copy of the couple’s divorce papers. Cutler listed their date of separation as April 21, the same day he filed for divorce. He cited “irreconcilable differences” and asked for joint custody. Meanwhile, Cavallari listed their date of separation as April 7, the same day they returned home from the Bahamas after being stuck there for three weeks due to the COVID-19 lockdown.

Cavallari cited “inappropriate marital conduct” and “irreconcilable differences” as grounds for their divorce. The “Hills” alum claimed that the NFL quarterback “is guilty of such inappropriate marital conduct as renders further cohabitation unsafe and improper.” Cavallari also denied that her ex-husband “has always been the available at-home parent and primary caretaker” of their three kids.

Cavallari also requested to have primary physical custody of their three children Camden, 7, Jaxon, 5, and Saylor, 4. The “Laguna Beach” star is also demanding for child support and for Cutler to pay their kids’ health insurance and other health-related expenses including dental and eye care.

The “Very Cavallari” stars took to Instagram to announce their split over the weekend.

“With great sadness, after 10 years together we have come to a loving conclusion to get a divorce,” Cavallari wrote.

“We have nothing but love and respect for one another and are deeply grateful for the years shared, memories made, and the children we are so proud of. This is just the situation of two people growing apart. We ask everyone to respect our privacy as we navigate this difficult time within our family.”

Cutler shared the same message on his Instagram account. While some were surprised with their announcement, several fans saw it coming. According to them, Cavallari and Cutler are very different. A number also sided with Cutler over Cavallari.

“This is not surprising at all. They are complete opposites. Jay is content with staying home and spending time with his family while Kristin was always too worried about the show, her business and her friends,” one user commented on Cavallari’s post.

“Sorry to hear that. He is a great man and father. You are a party girl and he is a realist. My heart goes out to Jay,” another added.
