Lady Gaga's outlandish outfits steal every show set she steps on and Sunday's MTV Europe Music Awards were no exception. Gaga transformed into paper, storming the stage on what appeared to be an artificial moon. The effect: paper moon.

The singer blew the audience away in her performance of 'Marry the Moon, which she sang while frolicking in a spiraling red and sliver dress designed by Paco Rabanne. It was complemented with a giant multicolored hat that completely covered her head.

It was inspired by the idea of the paper moon because there was a moon on stage tonight, Gaga told UK radio station Capital FM.

The 25-year-old not only performed her heart out, but also took away four awards at the show, including Best Female Artiste, Best Video and Best Song. This is the single most important song that I've ever written, the single-most important album and until now, the single most important moment, she said, acknowledging her hit single Born this Way. She also won the award for Best Fans.

As Gaga continues to woo audiences with her music and costumes, here is a look back at some of her best guises:

Jo Calderone: Jaws dropped as at the MTV Video Music Awards in August 2011 when Gaga took to the stage in a white T-shirt, baggy pants and sideburns, dressing up as her male alter ego: Jo Calderone.

Airplane Outfit: While some may choose to board an aeroplane in a comfortable, casual outfit, Gaga arrived in Sydney airport on July 9 wearing a tight white floor length dress scorched together with a black corset, fluffed up sleeves and elbow length black gloves. The outfit was complimented with small, white rounded sunglasses, red lipstick and two gigantic black and white hair buns.

Taichung City Hall Outfit: Only Lady Gaga would strut into a town hall with giant red flairs and black platforms and she did so successfully during her promotional tour of China. The singer was photographed next to children in her leopard print gold and red outfit that some of the children seemed to love while others looked terrified.

Bee Hive head: This was the ultimate hairdo that made the outfit. It speaks for itself. Imagine a giant blonde hair bobble wrapped in a thread of black wavy hair streaks. This was the hairdo Gaga chose when she visited Taiwan to promote her album, Born this Way.

Mermaid Dress: Gaga took to the stage of Germany's Next Top Model, by Heidi Klum in June wearing a green wig and stunning white mermaid dress. The dress was made out of interwoven, rippled tulle that was fitted to the knees and flared out at the bottom.

Technicolor Dream Leggings: Arriving at the Much Music Video Awards in Toronto, Lady Gaga wore a vintage Versace Cobalt and black blazer and Technicolor graphic leggings, worn with gold studded giant platforms.

Lady of Leather: Performing at the Miss Universe 2008 pageant in Vietnam, Lady Gaga was dress head to toe in leather, accompanied by a bright yellow blazer. It may have been one of her more conservative outfits but it certainly captured attention for its sleek, sexy look.
