  • LaVar Ball has new plans for Big Baller Brand
  • Lonzo Ball has stepped out of the brand's main image
  • LaVar plans to tap in different athletes for his company

LaVar Ball has been one of the most well-known personalities in recent years. His controversial remarks and unorthodox methods have launched the Ball family into Internet fame. Over the top comparisons coupled with a huge sense of confidence was one of the traits that made LaVar stand out. Aside from being the father of the Ball brothers, LaVar has made their name prominent with his business ventures.

The Big Baller Brand or BBB was a hot topic when Lonzo Ball first entered the league. The brand’s marketing campaigns jumped on Lonzo’s rap career and made news as the former number 2 pick’s shoe – deciding to pursue their own brand rather than sponsorship deals from major sporting brands.

The shoes, however, proved to be faulty in which Ball himself admitted. His signature shoe of the ZO2 was priced nearly $500. Lonzo eventually stepped out of the picture of the company with fraud allegations linked to one of their partners Aland Foster, sparking the business to halt their operations as well.

But in recent news, LaVar decided to put back the company in a different direction. LiAngelo Ball is the only remaining face of their website in which LaVar calls it a better approach in shopping. “BigBallerBrandInc.com was thoughtfully developed to provide customers with an improved shopping experience – the website includes a modern design, with a streamlined checkout process, improved functionality, optimized navigation and stronger customer service support,” said in the BBB relaunch statement.

With the brand getting their ways back online, LaVar shared as a guest on the Maybe I’m Crazy podcast with Joy Taylor his plans for the future. He was on record saying that they will add a new spin to the company. BBB will no longer focus on just his three boys, but also the top talent from across the nation. “There are some superstars coming out every year and I’m gonna start approaching them,” he shared.

He also added that he’s planning to provide athletes ownership stake in BBB. “That's different than endorsement," he said. That's what's gonna be the new business model.”
