“Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” Season 18 will see Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and the rest of the team taking on another complicated sexual assault case.

NBC has released the official synopsis for “Law & Order: SVU” Season 18, episode 4, titled “Heightened Emotions,” which teased that the new case will have the team delve deeper into the darker side of the athletic world. According to the episode description, an athlete who becomes the victim of a sexual assault is hiding a secret that could be detrimental to her case and her chances of participating in the Olympics.

“Law & Order: SVU” Season 18, episode 4 will also see the return of a familiar face. The synopsis revealed that Amanda (Kelli (Giddish) will reconnect with her sister, Kim Rollins (Lindsay Pulsipher), who is finally out of prison on parole. Check out the full synopsis for Wednesday’s episode below!

“An athlete is the victim of sexual assault, but her secret double life could ruin both the case against her attacker and her Olympic future. Meanwhile, Rollins (Kelli Giddish) reconnects with her sister Kim (guest star Lindsay Pulsipher) after she’s released from prison on parole,” read the synopsis, according to CarterMatt.

The two sisters have been at odds with each other since Kim was first introduced in the series. Previously, Kim was apprehended by cops for assaulting Slice and for drugging Anton when she worked as a prostitute, which caused him to sexually assault another woman named Alessandra. She also tricked her sister into killing Jeff (Theis Weckesser), her ex-boyfriend, by making it look like he was attempting to rape her while she was pregnant. This led to Amanda almost getting locked up as well.

Meanwhile, the trailer released by NBC for the episode hints that the victim may have been working as a prostitute while pursuing her dream to be an Olympic athlete. She appears to be hesitant about filing a case against her attacker, since this will result to her double life being exposed. How this will affect her future and her case will unfold in Wednesday’s episode.
