The Leftovers
John (Kevin Carroll, left) and Kevin (Justin Theroux, right) search for Evie (Jasmin Savoy Brown, not pictured) in episode 4 of "The Leftovers" Season 2. HBO

Episode 3 of "The Leftovers" Season 2 brought the HBO series back to New York to check in with ex-Guilty Remnant recruiter Laurie Garvey (Amy Brenneman), who has now taken up arms against the cigarette-loving cult. However, the show is headed back to Miracle in episode 4 where it will begin to unravel the mystery of what happened to Evie Murphy (Jasmin Savoy Brown) the night of that mysterious earthquake. What will happen in "Orange Sticker"?

According to the synopsis for the new episode, the show will once again return to the night of the earthquake, but this time from Nora's (Carrie Coon) perspective, as Kevin (Justin Theroux) comes home with a rather big problem on his hands. Fans will remember that in the Season 2 premiere, Evie, the daughter of Kevin and Nora's new neighbor, Kevin Murphy (Kevin Carroll), vanished after a sudden earthquake in the middle of the night. Then, in episode 2 viewers saw the events from Kevin's perspective, who curiously woke up at the exact spot where Evie went missing -- the dried up basin of a lake that happened to disappear along with Evie -- with no memory of what happened. His phone was also curiously missing.

The promo for the episode reveals that Nora does not want her husband to tell anyone what happened. She is fearful that he will be blamed, but did Kevin, who is being haunted by visions of Patti (Ann Down) actually have something to do with Evie's disappearance? In one scene from the teaser, police claim they pulled a set of fingerprints off of Evie's car, which Kevin touched when he woke up at the lake.

"It looks like you have some explaining to do," chides imaginary Patti.

In the meantime, John Murphy appears to be ready to lash out at anyone in his desperation to find his daughter, and Kevin seems willing to help him search -- what will he do if the search leads to him? In the promo, John attacks Isaac (Darius McCrary), the spiritual guru who predicted in the premiere that tragedy would soon visit John's family. Kevin has to pull his new friend off of the preacher before he kills him. Things are getting pretty tense in Miracle.
