Victor Garber has revealed that he was actually tense prior to meeting Christina Brucato on the set of CW’s “Legends of Tomorrow.”

“I was nervous the first day because I didn’t know her at all,” Garber said in a recent interview with Den of Geek when asked about his chemistry with his onscreen daughter. “But the minute we acted together, I thought, ‘This girl, she’s sublime.’ She’s so talented, and so game, and so much fun. So there was an instant rapport, and I would like more and more scenes with her. And hopefully I will have. I think she’s a great addition [to the show].”

Brucato made her debut appearance as Martin Stein’s (Garber) daughter, Lily, in Season 2, episode 6, and returned for episodes 7 and 10. In the original timeline, Martin and his wife Clarissa (Isabella Hofmann) don’t have any children. But after Martin urged his younger self from 1987 to be more attentive to Clarissa, a time aberration was created, and that aberration is Lily herself. Although Martin is supposed to fix aberrations, he and his fellow Legends have allowed Lily to stay in existence.

Garber told Comic Book Resources at last month’s San Diego Comic-Con that Brucato is reprising her role as Lily in Season 3. “We just did a scene last week so I know she’s coming back into the show,” the actor said.

As to what’s in store for Martin in Season 3, Garber said that Martin will question his future with his time-traveling buddies at the beginning of the new season. “He’s concerned about the mess they’ve made and questioning really everything,” Garber said (via Hidden Remote). “He’s kind of going through a bit of a crisis in terms of, ‘What is my place here? Should I be here?’ [He’s thinking about] Lily, his daughter. He’s thinking about his wife. Even though he’s still galvanized by the idea of what they’re doing, he’s looking at his mortality and questioning everything. I think that’s the thrust of his journey this season.”

“Legends of Tomorrow” Season 3 premieres on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW.
