Scottie Pippen will appear in this week’s episode of “Lethal Weapon.”

According to the synopsis for Season 2, episode 7 of the Fox series, Pippen guest-stars as Trish’s (Keesha Sharp) new friend, with whom she’s been working on a charity event. Murtaugh (Damon Wayans) is initially suspicious of his wife’s mystery friend but his suspicions turn into excitement when he finds out that Trish’s new buddy is none other than the NBA champion.

Pippen is not new to appearing on TV series. The basketball player made his TV acting debut in a 1996 episode of NBC’s “ER.” He has also guest-starred on ABC’s “Fresh Off The Boat” in 2015 and on NBC’s “Chicago Fire” in the same year. On the film side, Pippen appeared in 1996’s “Space Jam” and in the Chinese sci-fi movie “Amazing.”

Elsewhere in the upcoming episode of “Lethal Weapon,” Murtaugh and Riggs (Clayne Crawford) investigate the death of a surfer. In the trailer for the episode, a group of men headed by Duke Rawlings (Josh Wingate) kidnaps a surfer named Austin Noble (Steven Cox). The kidnappers then let Austin to talk to his father, Tom Noble (Andy Buckley), to tell him that the abductors wants a huge sum of money in exchange of his life. “Dad if you don’t wire them a million dollar, they’re gonna kill me,” Austin says in the video.

It’s unclear whether Tom gives the money the kidnappers have demanded. But either way, Austin ends up being dead. In the promo clip, Riggs and Murtaugh find the kidnappers’ hideout. Determined to seize the kidnappers, Riggs recklessly go inside the hideout alone, leaving his worried partner outside.

Also in the episode, Riggs has violent nightmares that bring up scars from his childhood. In last week’s Season 2, episode 6, it was revealed through flashbacks that Riggs’ dad was killed by his friend Jake (Linds Edwards). Following his dad’s death, future flashback scenes are expected to reveal how Riggs spent his life as an orphan at a very young age.
