Lil Nas X first made headlines when he stepped onto the music scene with his country-rap hit "Old Town Road" in 2018. Now, the rapper is making headlines after seemingly coming out as gay on the last day of Pride Month.

The viral sensation hinted at his sexuality on social media on Sunday. In a Twitter post, the 20-year-old rapper asked his fans to listen closely to his song "C7osure," which is one-eighth of his newly released EP "7."

"Some of y'all already know, some of y'all don't care, some of y'all not gone fwm no more. but before this month ends I want y'all to listen closely to c7osure," he shared before adding three emojis, including a rainbow.

Lil Nas X, apparently surprised by the feedback, posted another tweet a few hours later claiming, "dead-[expletive] thought I made it obvious." He attached the supposedly "obvious" proof of a side-by-side photo of the "7" album cover, which shows the rapper on his horse looking towards an illuminated city skyline, next to a zoomed in view of the skyline revealing rainbow lighting on one of the building.

Fans of the Atlanta native mostly supported the rapper. "It changes nothing...," one user wrote, while another tweeted, "Ik what you're talking about and I accept you bro, everyone should tbh you coming out shouldn't change people's views about you cause at the end of the day you're still the same lil nas X we all know and love!"

Lil Nas X's big announcement comes about a week ago after the songwriter was accused of sending controversial tweets under the Twitter handle @nasmaraj, which served as a fan account for fellow rapper Nicki Minaj.

Although the "Panini" rapper hasn't mentioned the reasoning behind revealing his sexuality he is no doubt living his best life. Since releasing the country-rap hit "Old Town Road," Lil Nas X has performed at the BET Awards, Coachella, and, most recently, Glastonbury Festival.
