  • Lionel Messi's possible Barcelona Successor made history in latest win
  • Messi has vowed to mentor his possible successor in Barcelona
  • Barcelona recently signed a youngster dubbed as the next Cristiano Ronaldo

Lionel Messi’s possible Barcelona successor makes history with impressive back-to-back goals.

In Sunday’s match against Levante, Ansu Fati, the youngster who Messi himself vowed to mentor, put in his best performance of the campaign so far.

The 17-year-old is starting to establish himself in the senior side and has made 18 appearances in all competitions, with 12 of those coming in La Liga.

But in Barcelona’s recent win, Fati made history and scored a brace during Barca's 2-1 win at Camp Nou, becoming the youngest ever player to score a double in La Liga.

What makes his brace even better, is that Barca captain Messi himself assisted both impressive goals. The two goals for Fati and two assists for Messi proved that the pair could be the next best thing Barcelona fans would be looking forward to. If Messi and Fati will be able to link up like this, it's impossible for fans not to get excited no matter what club they support.

Barca will be hoping Fati can continue to get the goals and of course, it seems almost inevitable that Messi will bag himself some more assists.

The latest win meant so much for Barcelona as it's getting very tight at the top once again in Spain. And with El Clasico less than a month away, every win and every goal could be crucial in this season's title race for Messi and the club.

Fati is one of the Barcelona youngsters who are viewed to have the potential Messi once had during his early years in soccer. In fact, the legend himself has vowed to help the teenager fulfill his dreams the same way he did.

"I like him and I'll try to help him. He is a fantastic player and has what it takes to succeed,” Messi told Give Me Sport about Fati.

As much as Messi would like Fati to become a soccer superstar, he also wants Fati to not rush in learning things as that was also what he did when he was younger.

"But if I look through my eyes, I would like him to have a gradual participation, as happened to me when I started. It must be remembered that he is only 16 years old," Messi emphasized.

Barcelona recently added another promising youngster who has been dubbed as the next Cristiano Ronaldo. Braga’s Francisco Trincão is all set to join the Catalan club on July 1 after it paid Portuguese side Braga a fee of $34.3 million for his services.
