  • The "Truth Hurts" singer mentioned the pregnancy rumors surrounding her and Chris Evans that she started last year

Lizzo addressed the pregnancy rumors surrounding her and Chris Evans in her hilarious opening monologue on "Saturday Night Live" over the weekend.

The 33-year-old musician was on double duty during Saturday's episode of the NBC sketch comedy show, serving as not only a first-time host but also the musical guest.

Lizzo, who graced the stage in a bright blue dress and matching shimmery fringe jacket, began her monologue by poking fun at her own much-talked-about style.

"My name is Lizzo and, yes, I'm shocked I have clothes on too," she said.

The "Truth Hurts" hitmaker brought up the "Captain America" star as she jokingly set the record straight about her relationship status.

"I read a lot of gossip online that I'm dating every little white boy in Hollywood," Lizzo said. "They think I'm collecting members of One Direction like Infinity Stones. I even heard a rumor that I'm pregnant with Chris Evans' baby."

"I have no idea where that one started," she joked, before adding, "It could be the TikTok I did …Where I said, ‘I'm pregnant with Chris Evans' baby, y'all.'"

Lizzo jokingly added, "It's called manifesting!"

In addition to addressing the rumors that she started, Lizzo also said she planned to "break the record for the amount of times 'b--ch' is said on live TV."

The singer, whose mother was in the audience, joked that her mom didn't appreciate her use of profanity but was now on board with it because she's "rich."

The rumors surrounding Lizzo and Evans began in April 2021, when the singer shared a hilarious TikTok video that showed a screenshot of what she sent the "Avengers" star while she was drunk as well as Evans' sweet reply.

The singer sent Evans the emojis for dashing away, a woman playing handball and a basketball, to which the actor replied, "No shame in a drunk DM [face-throwing-a-kiss emoji]. God knows I've done worse on this app lol [facepalm emoji]."

In the clip, Lizzo lip-synced to audio by Tatayanna Mitchell, saying, "The reason I’m upset about this one is because I know I’m not going to be able to marry him, and honestly it hurts me to the core – because damn papa, he a rare breed, no comparing."

Lizzo then discouraged fans from following her lead, writing in the caption: "Don’t drink and DM, kids. ... For legal porpoises, this is a joke."

Three months later, Lizzo posted another video on TikTok that saw her pretending to be pregnant with Evans' baby, sharing that she'd be welcoming "a little America" sometime in the future.

She later said she had "secured the child support bag" as she shared a screenshot of an exchange between her and the "Knives Out" actor about their imaginary baby.

"Hi! Just heard about our little bundle of joy," Evans wrote. "My mother will be so happy lol. (Just promise me no gender reveal parties lol)."

Lizzo fueled the rumors later that December when she jokingly said that she should "call Chris Evans" during a cover of Erykah Badu's "Tyrone," E! News reported.

"Maybe Captain America could put another bun up in my oven," she added.
