Singer-songwriter Lizzo has opened up about her plans for the future with her boyfriend Myke Wright. She said she has known him for six years and they are in love.

"I've known him for over six years. He's everything. We're just in love. And that's it," the 34-year-old singer told Vanity Fair in an interview published Tuesday.

Talking about her marriage plans with Wright, Lizzo said: "Is monogamy a religion? People fight for monogamy like they pray to it every day. I am not a polyamorous person, I'm not in love with multiple partners. That is not me. He's the love of my life. We are life mates."

"Do I want to get married?" she continued. "If I wanted to start a business with him, I'd get married because that's when your finances come together."

The "About Damn Time" singer further explained how she doesn't think about "sex" when it comes to "monogamy and rules" instead she thinks about "the autonomy and independence."

She said that the idea of two independent people coming together is more pleasant than "you complete me, you're my other half."

The singer added, "I'm whole, and you're incredible too. We're like the mirror image of each other. We're connected. But that doesn't mean I was incomplete when I met him."

While the couple has been dating since 2016, Lizzo made her relationship with Wright public in 2021. Since then, they have been seen at various events together.

On the work front, Lizzo began her career in the music industry with the "Humanize" music video, which was dropped in 2016. After many singles and music albums, the singer dropped her fourth studio album on July 15.

Considering her successful career, she reflected on her earlier life and said that she doesn't miss doing "normal" things like grocery shopping.

"Hell no! I worked at the grocery store. I pushed carts in the winter at King Soopers (a grocery store) in Aurora, Colorado. I used to go to the grocery store all the motherf--king time," she recalled. "I used to get quarters and go to the lavandería to wash my motherf--king clothes. I've done all these things; I had very normal formative years."
