KEY POINTS

  • Deron Willams said Dirk Nowitzki texted him to help him get out of the mud
  • Dirk was driving his minivan on a wet, muddy day
  • The Minivan’s wheels and Dirk’s white Nike kicks were carrying thick mud

The role of a point guard is to orchestrate a play and give the ball down to the big man on the post and that’s what just happened when you are known to give an assist during your entire NBA career.

Former NBA star guard Deron Williams shared on his Instagram account a video where he drove his truck so he can rescue someone who had his car stuck in the mud. Good thing, the two of them had a background of playing together or it would be hard for them to do teamwork.

Who owns the car that got stuck in the mud. His former Dallas teammate Dirk Nowitzki and his minivan.

The view was just a brief clip but the mud around the seven-foot legend’s wheels are so thick and that is just an indication that Dirk tried to escape but the mud just won’t let them do that. The thick mud also on Dirk’s white kicks. It takes a lot of guts for someone to wear white Nike on a rainy muddy day.

Dirk is just having the time of his life after retirement, roasting former teammates and having fun.

Williams and Nowitzki were on the same team when the former signed with the Dallas Mavericks in 2015 after spending five years with the New Jersey Nets before it relocated to Brooklyn. The 6-foot-3 former Fighting Illini guard played a season and a half with Dirk in Dallas and did pretty well.

He averaged 13.6 points, 6.4 assists, and 2.8 rebounds in over 30 minutes a game for coach Rick Carlisle, including a game-winner against the Sacramento Kings in second-overtime to finish the comeback led by Nowitzki.

Williams was drafted third overall by Utah in 2005 – same draft class with Andrew Bogut, Chris Paul, Andrew Bynum, and Ersan Ilyasova – and played 12 seasons in the NBA, where he played for the Jazz, Nets, Mavs, and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
