‘Lucifer’
What will Lucifer's (Tom Ellis) reaction be like when his mom tells him the truth about a cryptic photo in “Lucifer” Season 2, episode 12? FOX

“Lucifer” Season 2 will soon introduce Lucifer Morningstar’s (Tom Ellis) dad, God, in one of its upcoming episodes.

According to TV Line, the producers of the hit FOX series are looking for a male actor who could play the role. The character will be introduced as a psychiatric patient who thinks that he is God. Lucifer doesn’t immediately believe that the man could be his real dad, but the alleged God Almighty will soon divulge certain information that only his real father knows about.

“Lucifer tries to prove him a phony, but he comes to find out that ‘God Johnson’ seems to know things that only Lucifer’s true father would know,” an insider said.

Meanwhile, “Lucifer” executive producer Joe Henderson previously said that they didn’t have any plans to introduce God very early on in the series. In an interview with TV Insider in April, the exec said that introducing God wasn’t a priority for the show at the time. Rather, it was Lucifer’s mom that they wanted to include in the series. “We have no plan to cast God right now, but to us Mom is very much a character and one that we’re really excited to bring to life,” he said.

At the beginning of Season 2, Lucifer and Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside) reunited with their mom, Charlotte (Tricia Helfer). The latter has caused a lot of trouble in the lives of both of her sons.

Most recently, Charlotte has come to realize that Lucifer’s close friend, Chloe Decker (Lauren German), is actually a miracle child. She will then try to think of a way to use Chloe in order to convince Lucifer that they should all just go back to Hell. After all, Lucifer listens to Chloe, and whatever she says always has an impact on him.

“Lucifer” Season 2, episode 11 will air on FOX on Jan. 16 at 9 p.m. EST.
