‘Lucifer’
Tim DeKay will play the role of a neuroscience professor named Dr. Jacob Carlisle in "Lucifer" Season 2, episodes 13 to 15. FOX

Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) is in danger of being taken down “Lucifer” Season 2 big bad, Dr. Jacob Carlisle (Tim DeKay).

While speaking with TV Line, co-showrunner Ildy Modrovich confirmed that Lucifer’s encounter with Dr. Carlisle will have a huge and negative impact to one of the people that the lead character cares about. By the looks of it, Chloe’s (Lauren German) fate is on the line.

“We’re doing something that we haven’t done before, which is we’re having a three-episode procedural arc launching Jan. 16. So, in addition to mythology and really digging into Lucifer, Chloe and ‘Will They/Won’t They,’ we have one Big Bad guy,” she said.

However, Modrovich also clarified that even though Dr. Carlisle will torment Lucifer and his friends in the three upcoming episodes, the newcomer also has a good side to him. After all, it has always been Modrovich and her team’s goal to explore the duality of every character. “He starts doing terrible things, but his intentions aren’t bad. He was faced with making a horrible moral call, in the middle of distress, and now he’s kind of backpedaling from that. But in doing that, he does bad things,” she explained.

Meanwhile, DeKay’s episode in “Lucifer” Season 2 will air on Jan. 23. Episode 12 is titled “Love Handles.” In the installment, Lucifer and Chloe will investigate a mysterious masked killer who is randomly poisoning college students. On top of their professional tasks, Lucifer and Chloe have to figure out what’s going on between them after the two of them exchanged a meaningful kiss. Elsewhere, Charlotte (Tricia Helfer) visits Dr. Linda (Rachael Harris) to discuss a sensitive subject.

“Lucifer” Season 2 will returns to FOX with episode 11, titled “Stewardess Interruptus,” on Jan. 16 at 9 p.m. EST.
