The new 2019 MacBook is still a mystery when faced upfront, like the one shown on-stage. A new Apple patent shows technology that could potentially be used in the new MacBook as its trackpad. Apparently, this new customizable trackpad would be illuminated and provide the user access to many commands. Here’s what we know about this possible new feature.

According to PatentlyApple, the new Apple illuminated trackpad patent showed that the user would have a customizable, adjustable trackpad. This trackpad is larger than the rectangular trackpad commonly seen in laptops as the illuminated screen would span as long as the MacBook’s built-in keyboard.

The illuminated trackpad will also allow the user to add new functions aside from controlling the mouse. The user can adjust the size and position of the mouse control while giving space for the illuminated screen to do something else.

The illuminated screen can also be fitted with other information such as status updates, and even potentially be a drawing pad for the Apple Pencil. So far, this new trackpad shows great potential for innovation as no other laptop developer has added such a feature to their device.

Apple has confirmed that it will be releasing a new Macbook this 2019 and that it’ll have a new design. The full details of the new Macbook have yet to be revealed as its new hardware, features and even exact release date have not been confirmed.

In the Apple event last March, CEO Tim Cook talked about upcoming Apple devices that would impress their loyal customers but didn’t exactly discuss thoroughly the features of these new devices. For now, we can only wait for Apple to start updating loyal fans about these new devices to find out if we’re going to receive an improved trackpad for the MacBook 2019.

Apple’s current focus is on pushing out their new services to all smart devices. The bolstered services will definitely push Apple’s expertise to branching out to another industry.

However, Apple has yet to announce any new device that’ll join and compete with the new foldable display smart devices from the Android smartphone developers. We’ll have to wait for Apple to see if they’ll act on these new patents they’re pushing out.
