Madison Parker denies that her ex’s bisexuality was a factor in their split.

Parker and Aaron Carter announced their separation after the latter admitted his being bisexual. This prompted reports that the exes parted ways because of his sexuality. However, Carter’s ex-girlfriend cleared things out and explained that his being bisexual was not an issue and had nothing to do with their split.

“My split with Aaron has nothing to do with him being bisexual. Our parting of ways is something that has been coming for some time and it’s the best thing for us both,” Parker told E! News. “Some of my closest friends and loved ones are of the LGBTQ community, people I love and support wholeheartedly, so for Out.com or anyone to label me ‘homophobic’ is appalling and hurtful and couldn’t be more off character.”

Parker added that she has been supportive of Carter. She is also happy that he has finally come out and has been living his truth. As for their split, she admitted that it was difficult for her.

“Breaking up is never easy for anyone, but it is my hope that we can move on from this point as peacefully and respectfully as possible. I wish him all the best,” Parker said.

However, Carter said a different thing about their split when he was asked about its timing. “I had discussed it with my ex-girlfriend, and she didn’t really understand it. She didn’t want [to],” he told The Bert Show. “And that was it. So we left it mutual and parted ways.”

Despite Carter’s statement, his rep confirmed that his split from Parker was amicable. “Aaron and Madison love each other and respect one another dearly,” Carter’s rep confirmed to Entertainment Tonight. “It was a mutual decision and Aaron’s personal statement released speaks for itself. Now back to the music.”

Another insider said the same thing and revealed that the two have already broken up a week earlier before they announced it. “The split was very amicable,” another insider told ET. “Aaron is continuing to focus on his personal self with regards to his truth, health and music.”
