The magic of the holiday season may be have been underway for a while on Lifetime, but the newest film to premiere as part of the network’s holiday lineup could be the most spirited of all. Starring Erin Karpluk and Damon Runyan, “The Magical Christmas Shoes” debuts Friday.

Both Karpluk and Runyan are vets when it comes to TV, including Christmas movies. Karpluk starred in the 2011 film “Christmas Lodge,” and was also one of the leads in UP TV’s 2018 film “Christmas Cupcakes.” She may also have some fans from her bevy of TV roles as well, which included Alice in “Life Unexpected,” Erica in “Being Erica” and Heather/Kaili in “Slasher.”

Runyan, meanwhile, has been a staple over at Hallmark channel for years, starring in that channel’s 2014 holiday film “One Starry Christmas,” 2016’s “Sound of Christmas” and 2017’s “Christmas Festival of Ice.” He also starred in Hallmark Movies and Mysteries’ “Mistletoe Over Manhattan” in 2011. In addition to a long list of other TV movies, he may also be best known for his role as Coach Carson on “Degrassi: The Next Generation.”

So what will happen when these two pros team up for their first production together on Lifetime? Certainly, viewers can likely expect some Christmas magic, and naturally, there is sure to be some romance as well.

“A pair of magical shoes steps in Kayla Hummel’s (Karpluk) holiday season,” a synopsis states.

However, the shoes won’t just be something that helps her step up her fashion game though—as they will likely hold the key to her having the best Christmas of her life.

“[The shoes are] allowing her to rediscover her Christmas spirit and find love too,” the synopsis reads.

Will this special pair of shoes truly help Kayla have a memorable holiday? And how will Runyan’s character play a role in that magic?
