  • Fans pointed out to her that the meals she’s been eating are not healthy

Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson has officially come back to Instagram ahead of “Mama June: From Not to Hot” Season 6 to share with her fans her new diet.

The 16-year-old reality star took to the social media platform Tuesday to share a video of her introducing the foods she’s been eating as she tries to lose weight. At the start of the clip, she admitted that shedding extra pounds was one of her New Year’s resolutions, so she’s doing the high protein diet.

The “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” star introduced her secret to losing weight in her post, saying Real Good Foods has been “amazing” in helping her reach her goal because it’s low on carbs and high in proteins. She even showed her fans how to prepare the bacon-wrapped, mozzarella-stuffed chicken of the food manufacturer and took a bite of the finished dish at the end of the clip.

“I have been on a weight loss journey this year, and I’m really trying to watch what I eat. I had to share some low carb, high in protein super easy meals I found @realgoodfoods!! I am so busy with school, I have very little time to cook a healthy meal, @realgoodfoods are so quick and delicious it tasted like a home-cooked meal,” Mama June’s youngest daughter wrote in the caption.

However, instead of piquing the interest of her followers for the product she’s promoting, Honey Boo Boo received flak for advertising the instant meals that many deemed unhealthy.

“That’s not good for you… it’s processed food!” one wrote.

“Sodium level, very high! [It] might be low in carbs and high in protein, but the sodium [is] too much, way too much!! Not that healthy,” another added.

“Microwave processed food is not healthy at all. Don’t forget, [it’s] high in sodium,” a third user pointed out.

Despite the backlash, other fans voiced their support for Alana and gave her some tips on how to lose weight. Some even advised her not to listen to her critics.

“You do you boo! Don’t listen to what anyone else says, it’s your life, your choices,” one fan stated.

“Glad you’re eating healthier. Keep it up,” another wrote.

“You can literally eat whatever you want. It’s portions control and exercising,” a different fan commented.

Honey Boo Boo’s post comes just two days after her sister and de facto guardian Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon’s pregnancy was announced. The 22-year-old is expecting twins with her 25-year-old husband Joshua Efird.

Unnamed sources told TMZ that Pumpkin is pregnant with twins, a girl and a boy, and she’s already six months along. She gave birth to her son, Bentley Jameson, eight months ago, and she also has a daughter, 4-year-old Ella Grace.

As for the reality sisters’ controversial mom, Mama June, 42, is rumored to be planning her wedding to her boyfriend Justin Stroud, 34. The Shannon matriarch recently sparked engagement rumors after sporting a huge sparkler in a recent livestream for her fans.

More details about what the family has been up to will be revealed when “Mama June: From Not to Hot” Season 6 premieres this May.
