A 32-year-old man in Bartow County, Georgia, has been arrested after it was found that he impregnated a 12-year-old family member.

The development comes after a months-long investigation into allegations that the man, identified as Courtney Spears, of Adairsville, Georgia, molested one of his family members, WSB-TV reported. Police have not commented further on Spears and the victim's relationship.

The minor victim, whose name has not been disclosed, was discovered to be pregnant in November last year after a doctor’s visit for what was first thought to be an unknown illness, according to police.

After a lengthy investigation, police secured a search warrant to test Spears' DNA.

DNA results showed that Spears was the father of the victim's child, police said.

“After a complex and lengthy investigation, the suspect, Mr. Courtney Spears, was DNA tested via a search warrant. A few days ago, those results were finally received by the Adairsville Police Department. The DNA test result showed that Courtney Spears was the father of the child,” read a statement from Adairsville police obtained by Coosa Valley News.

Spears is now facing several charges, including two counts of incest, two counts of rape and two counts of child molestation. He is currently being held in the Bartow County Jail.

In related news, a 23-year-old man in Texas was sentenced last month to over a decade in prison after he admitted to engaging in sexual contact with two children and getting them both pregnant.

Carlos Uribe-Garza was sentenced to 121 months in prison for coercion or enticement of a minor female, KRQE reported.

Uribe-Garza befriended a 15-year-old girl at her quinceanera party in Reynosa, Mexico, and had a sexual relationship with the minor from December 2020 to February 2021, court records said. He would travel across the border for the relationship and eventually got the teen pregnant.

Uribe-Garza was arrested on charges of bringing in and harboring aliens and coercion or enticement of a minor female after attempting to bring the 15-year-old to the U.S. on Feb. 24, 2021.

During the investigation of this case, it was learned that Uribe-Garza had impregnated another child, a 16-year-old girl, in 2019 and had prevented her from speaking up about it.

The 23-year-old entered a plea deal in June 2021. As part of the plea, Uribe-Garza admitted to committing sex acts with the minor girl, and federal prosecutors agreed to drop the harboring charge.
