Man Chugs Pint Of Beer At Party And Dies, Video Shows

A man chugging a pint of beer at a party in Thailand collapsed and died. A video posted on Facebook shows the man, along with many others, drinking beer in one go as part of a contest.

As the co-workers rooted for everyone participating, the man finished his beverage in less than 30 seconds. He then triumphantly raised his glass and immediately collapsed seconds after that.

“Yes, he immediately died after drinking alcohol, but there are so many possible contributing factors that we cannot even say that alcohol caused it right now," an official, identified by the World of Buzz as Somsak Laikabohk, said. “We have to see if the victim was allergic to anything, whether he had any underlying conditions or was drinking on an empty stomach and things like that.”

A social media user, who said he was present at the time of the incident, wrote in a now-deleted thread on Facebook that the man experienced a seizure after collapsing. The user added that beer started coming out of his nose and mouth.

"Nobody knows the actual cause of death yet and we didn't know if he had any allergies or medical conditions," the man's colleague Chanokporn Techatawinwong told the Sun. "But the drinking challenge is never a good idea. The game is becoming popular in many bars and parties and I hope this tragic incident will never happen to anybody again."

The man, who was already declared dead, was rushed to a hospital following the incident. Other details about the incident remain unknown.

Local police said the incident was being investigated. Authorities were also probing if the man was poisoned. A cause of death will be determined after the completion of an autopsy.
