  • Gary Neville thinks Manchester United should go all-in on Harry Kane
  • He believes that Sancho and Varane are not enough to win them the league title
  • Manchester United will be looking to dominate the Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend

Manchester United legend Gary Neville believes that his former club is missing one more piece in their pursuit of the English Premier League title.

The right-back made 400 appearances across 19 years with his lone club and the football pundit has a name in mind for them to target now rather than later if they truly want to solidify their status as league contenders.

“I don’t know why Manchester United aren’t going that extra step this transfer window,” he said on Sky Sports, prior to Leceister City and West Ham United’s Premier League clash.

“They’ve always gone after the best English player in the Premier League historically. Why aren’t they going for Harry Kane? If Harry Kane entered Manchester United, you get to 94, 95 points [and] they still have to replace [Edinson] Cavani and [Anthony] Martial. Why not get the man now? … Kane coming in would be the differentiator.”

The Tottenham striker and England team captain has been reportedly been interested in a move away from the club and has his eyes set on a transfer to the Red Devils’ cross-town rival, Manchester City.

His main reasoning for this is that Chelsea was able to sign former Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku from Inter and Manchester City acquired England international team player Jack Grealish, leaving the Old Trafford side a bit low on the quality of goalscorers.

Neville then shared his doubts on Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane’s ability to help the club win silverware this season.

Southampton gave Manchester United fans quite the scare this past weekend after they were able to score an early goal, but the match ended in a draw, thanks to Paul Pogba’s assist for Mason Greenwood in the second half.

Sancho has only been featured as a substitute so far and Varane is yet to make his Manchester United debut as the two transfer signees look to get up to speed on the club’s playbook.

Manchester United still has roughly a week to get Paul Pogba to agree on an extension and can take Neville’s advice and go all out in a transfer bid for Tottenham’s Kane.

The club will be facing the Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend prior to the short international break in September.
