  • Ralf Rangnick fully believes Jadon Sancho is part of the club's future
  • Sancho now looks to be a major piece in their title hopes this season
  • Manchester United has two winnable games on deck for this week

Manchester United has struggled to stay in form for much of this season, but interim manager Ralf Rangnick is eager to see rising star Jadon Sancho blossom into one of the club’s best players.

"The style of football we play fits perfectly with his assets and his strengths, coming from the left side and I also try to show him and give him my support, tell him he should have a go even in this league, it's more physical, more competitive and the same happened with other players who played in those positions,” a glowing Rangnick said as quoted by the Manchester Evening News.

Sancho is arguably Manchester United’s biggest signing in the most recent summer transfer window as his potential as a dynamic scoring threat coupled with his agility could pose problems for even some of the best midfielders and defenders in the English Premier League.

Putting up £72.9 million ($98.8 million) to convince Borussia Dortmund to sell Sancho, Manchester United fans were ecstatic at the announcement of his arrival to Old Trafford.

However, Sancho looked lost on the field in his early appearances for the Red Devils which was to be expected since it was a transition period–something that Rangnick also acknowledged due to a change in the level of competition.

Sancho, despite the playing time, failed to find his footing for the longest time and it was the two-week managerial stint of Michael Carrick that allowed the 21-year-old to flash potential of his on-field brilliance.

Rangnick agreeing to take over the club from Carrick had Red Devils fans rejoicing as his pedigree as a manager speaks highly of how he could potentially bring Sancho and the club to even greater heights.

In their consecutive 1-1 draws with Middlesbrough, Burnley and Southampton, Sancho started to look and feel like he is more comfortable in Manchester United’s kits.

His maiden goal in the “Theater of Dreams” came off against Southampton this past weekend thanks to a wonderful assist from striker Marcus Rashford, giving the Red Devils the opening score of the game.

Though that game would turn out to be a draw, the young winger’s ability to mount an immediate scoring threat off the counterattack is almost similar to that of a video game.

Add in the fact that striker Mason Greenwood will be out for the foreseeable future due to his off-field troubles, a golden opportunity has landed on the lap of Sancho to take advantage of.

With Manchester United creeping ever-closer to securing a top-four finish in the Premier League, the 63-year-old German tactician will figure to have Sancho as part of his starting 11 in their upcoming fixtures.

Their next two matches will be against Brighton Hove & Albion on Tuesday, February 15 and Leeds United on Sunday, February 20–both winnable games on paper, but the Red Devils’ form as a whole puts that into question.
