  • A former Manchester United midfielder believes that Paul Pogba is better suited for an exit
  • His role at Old Trafford has been handed to Bruno Fernandes since being sent off against Liverpool
  • A Juventus official recently warned that Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are on the prowl for Pogba

Manchester United’s quest to re-sign Paul Pogba is headed to its climax as the January transfer window is nearing, but a former club standout believes that he is closer to an exit than re-signing.

In an exclusive conversation with Caught Offside, Luke Chadwick revealed his reasoning as to why the marriage between Pogba and Manchester United is heading towards a second divorce.

“[Paul] Pogba’s played incredibly well at times, but then gone missing. The sending-off against Liverpool was a real disappointment for him and the club. And now the injury, it’s really bad timing. I’d be very surprised now if he does sign another contract with the club. I can see him being on his way at the end of the season when his contract comes to an end,” Chadwick explained.

He has a good point in this as Pogba’s outright red card against Liverpool came at the 60th minute, a full 10 minutes since Mohamed Salah scored his hattrick and for Arsenal’s fifth overall goal.

Tensions had been boiling over for Manchester United in that game as the frustration certainly got to them and their poor decision-making, coupled with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s lack of concrete tactics, had Manchester United fans booing their own team.

Reports came out that Juventus was dropping out of their pursuit of Pogba due to financial difficulties and that the Red Devils should be ready for offers from Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid instead, said a Juventus official.

As it stands, the sand in the hourglass is running out for both sides to resolve their situation with all of the uncertainty surrounding them.

In his second stint with Manchester United, Pogba was a whole other player compared to the one that had risen up through the academy ranks.

The 28-year-old became a reliable force to be reckoned with in the midfield as his crisp passes were surgical enough to cut through the opposing defense.

There was hope that Pogba would become a major piece of Manchester United’s pursuit of an English Premier League title this season, but it already seems as if Bruno Fernandes has taken his spot as the primary playmaker.

With Pogba doing nothing but sitting on the sidelines and waiting for the end to come, Manchester United just might pull the trigger on a Pogba trade at the January window instead of losing him for nothing in the summer once his contract expires.
