  • Manchester United's Amad Diallo is nearing full recovery
  • Feyenoord is ready to discuss Diallo's loan move with Manchester United once again
  • The 20-year-old has earned comparisons to Cristiano Ronaldo

A Manchester United signing once likened to Cristiano Ronaldo may finally see himself joining another club next year.

Amad Diallo is currently working on his Manchester United return, having incurred an unfortunate injury that saw his summer loan move to Dutch club Feyenoord being stopped.

As Diallo nears full recovery, Feyenoord is once again ready to re-open negotiations with Manchester United over the winger’s loan move, Feyenoord Transfermarkt reported.

The report added that Feyenoord is interested in loaning Diallo for a “longer period” of time. The Dutch outfit is looking to begin talks with Manchester United “next winter.”

The Red Devils signed Diallo last October and completed his move to Old Trafford in January.

However, the 20-year-old failed to secure a spot in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s senior team squad.

Nevertheless, Solskjaer still includes Diallo in his plans, and an earlier report said that the Manchester United boss will have the youngster competing for a position in the first team as soon as he gets back.

“Still injured, still out for about a month,” Solskjaer told Manchester United’s official website of Diallo. “So maybe after the next international break [in October], he will be available for us which is great for us.”

“It was bad timing for him to get that injury but he's working really hard and the kid is going to be a good one,” the manager added.

Prior to his injury, Diallo played a total of 11 games for Manchester United, registering a remarkable tally of five goals and four assists.

It can also be recalled that some have hyped Diallo as a Lionel Messi-like player, but Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand saw a resemblance in the overall character and game of his former teammate Ronaldo.

“If you see his clips and speak to people at the club who are involved in buying him, potentially this kid could be a world-beater,” Ferdinand said of Diallo earlier this year.

“That is the thought of Manchester United people, that this kid is one they have unearthed. I don’t want to put the pressure of [Cristiano] Ronaldo on him, but no one knew about Ronaldo when we bought him other than the people in Portugal. This kid seems similar in that sense and if you see his clips and the way people talk about him, the world is his oyster if he applies himself right.”
