  • PAOK's Christos Tzolis is drawing attention from big-name European clubs
  • Manchester United is being linked to a move for Tzolis this summer
  • The Greek striker is focused on playing for his current club at the moment

Manchester United has added a remarkable striker into its transfer wish list.

PAOK’s Christos Tzolis is considered as one of Greek’s most notable rising stars. At 19, he has already been called up to play for the country’s national team, becoming the seventh-youngest player to ever represent the nation.

Tzolis’ fine form has taken the attention of top European clubs, and among the current leaders in pursuit of the teenage striker is English Premier League club Manchester United, Goal reported.

According to the report, the Red Devils are planning to a make transfer move for Tzolis at the end of the season. However, the Old Trafford outfit might have to compete with Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund.

To date, Tzolis has already bagged 17 goals across all competitions, including international matches. He has also proven that he can create chances for his teammates, having registered 10 assists so far.

Despite being thrilled to have been linked to Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund, the 19-year-old seems focused on becoming a better player and helping PAOK win games.

"I am honored that such big teams are being linked with me," Tzolis said of Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund link-ups in a recent interview with PAOK TV. "[But] I am a PAOK player. I'm looking to improve and I want the year to end as best I can."

Earlier this year, Tzolis’ market value skyrocketed from €400,000 ($468,000) to €10 million ($11.7 million), an overwhelming figure that requires the Red Devils to do a lot of thinking.

This season, Manchester United has already scored a total of 56 goals to date in the English top-flight, just eight goals behind league leaders Manchester City.

Solskjaer’s squad is stacked with world-class strikers such as Edinson Cavani, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, and Manchester United academy product Mason Greenwood. With that in mind, the addition of Tzolis would pose threat to rivaling clubs.

Meanwhile, Martial has been sidelined for weeks due to a hip injury and also missed out on their Sunday game against Leicester City.

According to Solskjaer, the French striker is eager to get fit and it would be best for him to join the France national team for now.

“I’m not sure because he’s not reacted how we hoped,” Solskjaer told Manchester United’s official website of Martial’s injury last week. “He’s working hard to get the treatment, in the pool, light work, and everything to get ready. That’s the pleasing thing.”

“He’s just wanting to get fit and I think it will benefit him going to France and playing,” he continued.
