  • Manchester United's Amad Diallo is being linked to a loan move
  • Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer addressed Diallo's situation
  • The 19-year-old is already being likened to both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo

Manchester United might have to deal with the interest of a host of clubs in one of its new signings.

It has been a hugely successful summer so far for Manchester United in terms of signings, having been able to land Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane. Unavoidably, the club’s stacked roster has got other teams eyeing some of its players, particularly Amad Diallo.

The rumors linking Diallo’s name to a number of clubs ultimately proliferated after Manchester Evening News reported that the winger could be sent out on loan.

Reputable transfer insider Fabrizio Romano said Crystal Palace and Swiss club FC Basel are both keen on bringing in Diallo, while Talksport linked the winger to Sheffield United.

Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who had earlier raved that Diallo is “quite remarkable at his age,” revealed his stance on the subject.

According to Solskjaer, the 19-year-old has been making great progress at Manchester United. However, should a loan move persist, the club should ensure that the deal ticks all the boxes.

“With Amad [Diallo], I have to say he’s doing really, really well in training, he’s come back a little later after the Olympics and now he’s looking really good,” Solskjaer said in a press conference on Friday.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if he stays as well,” he admitted. “[But] it has to be the right loan, the club, way of playing.”

Diallo completed his move to Manchester United from Atalanta in January. He has played a total of four games for the first team, but it was at the English Premier League 2 – Division 1 where he made a name for himself, having scored four times in three matches.

Prior to his Manchester United debut, Diallo has already been earning comparisons to both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

An earlier report suggested that the Ivorian has the same playing style as a young Messi.

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand, meanwhile, saw a significant resemblance between Diallo and his former teammate Ronaldo.

“If you see his clips and speak to people at the club who are involved in buying him, potentially this kid could be a world-beater,” Ferdinand said of Diallo earlier this year.

“That is the thought of Manchester United people, that this kid is one they have unearthed,” he continued. “I don’t want to put the pressure of [Cristiano] Ronaldo on him, but no one knew about Ronaldo when we bought him other than the people in Portugal. This kid seems similar in that sense and if you see his clips and the way people talk about him, the world is his oyster if he applies himself right.”
