Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have reportedly been linked to a move for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.

Rashford has a contract with Manchester United until 2023. The English forward's agents met with PSG last week and are believed to be receptive to the Ligue 1 side's interest, ESPN reported. However, PSG are yet to start discussions with the Red Devils over Rashford's transfer.

Even if Manchester United agree to sell Rashford, the Old Trafford side is expected to demand a high asking price since Rashford, who is their academy graduate, still has a year left on his contract.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports reported that PSG are not likely to follow up their interest in Rashford and the Red Devils are relaxed about the whole situation.

In a recent press conference, PSG's new boss Christophe Galtier said he needed another forward despite having Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, Neymar, Hugo Ekitike and Pablo Sarabia in his attack for the 2022-23 campaign. PSG want a player who could play wide or as No. 9.

With a busy 2022 in mind, especially with FIFA World Cup scheduled to take place in November, PSG want to include another attacker in their squad.

"The club is working very hard. I am in direct contact with Luis Campos [PSG's football advisor] on this and he is in direct contact with the management and our president. But whether by the end of the transfer window an offensive player will arrive I cannot confirm, but the club is working hard on this position," Galtier told reporters Thursday.

Rashford missed quite a few games last season due to surgery and a couple of injuries. Out of the 38 league games, Rashford played only 25, starting 13 of those. Overall, the Englishman made 32 appearances in all competitions and scored five goals and two assists. Due to lack of game time, Rashford lost his place in the England national soccer team.
