  • "The Mandalorian" fared better than all the shows on different streaming platforms in terms of demand
  • The series has been declared the most in-demand original series across all streaming services
  • "Star Wars: The Clone Wars," "Dickinson," "Curious George" were other shows that recorded impressive numbers

“The Mandalorian” is considered to be one of the best TV series in recent times. The Disney+ series garnered universal acclaim and turned out to be one of the biggest hits for the streaming service, drawing millions of viewers to the new platform. Based on a new survey conducted by Parrot Analytics, the blockbuster show is the most in-demand series across all streaming services.

The survey, which compared the launch weeks of Disney+, HBO Max, Apple TV+, and Peacock, found that the show created by Jon Favreau was the most anticipated of all the original shows that were offered by the aforementioned streaming platforms, The Hollywood Reporter first reported.

The demand for the show has been more than 50 times greater than the average TV series during the launch week.

“‘The Mandalorian’ is in a class of its own,” THR quoted Alejandro Rojas, director of Applied Analytics at Parrot Analytics, as saying.

The show tells the story of a lone gunfighter (played by Pedro Pascal), who makes his way through the outer reaches of the galaxy, far from the authority of the New Republic.

Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa, and Deborah Chow donned the director’s hat for the series.

Other Disney+ shows included on the list were “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,” “The World According To Jeff Goldblum,” and “Marvel’s What If?”

Meanwhile, three of the shows that featured on Apple TV+ at the time of its launch were higher in demand than the average TV series during that same week. Shows like “For All The Mankind,” “Dickinson,” and “See” fared better than “The Morning Show.”

With a star-studded cast comprising Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carrell, the series was slightly below the average.

For HBO Max, it was “Looney Tunes Cartoons” that turned out to be the clear winner. The animated series left behind Anna Kendrick’s “Love Life.”

“Looney Tunes Cartoon” is a reboot of the classic series and features all the iconic characters like Bugs Bunny, Sylvester, Tweety, Daffy Duck, Road Runner, Coyote, and many more. The show turned out to be a huge success for the streaming platform and currently holds a score of 85% on review site Rotten Tomatoes.

On the other hand, the numbers for Peacock showed that “Brave New World” and “Curious George” were the two shows that were more in demand than the other three series featured on the list.
