Klay Alexander Thompson is a professional NBA player who is the Golden State Warriors’ shooting guard. He recently visited Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao’s training camp Between the two professional athletes, who is richer?

The Warriors’ superstar has an annual salary of $37,980,720 from his five-year contract worth $189,903,600. Thompson is one of the highest-earning players on his team, only next to Stephen Curry, according to Spotrac. The professional NBA star also has various endorsements and deals that earn him an additional five to $10 million every year, Celebrity Net Worth reported.

Thompson made his NBA debut in 2011 where he was the 11th pick, and he has played for the Warriors ever since. One of his biggest payouts was in 2020 when he earned $38.8 million, securing him a spot on Forbes’ list of highest-paid athletes in that same year. Despite the NBA superstar’s massive deal with shoe brand Anta, which is expected to be worth $80 million in the next decade, his fortune pales in comparison to that of the boxing icon.

The Filipino athlete has an estimated net worth of $220 million from his boxing career, facing off against other legends, including Antonio Barrera, Erik Morales and Floyd Mayweather, who is considered to be Pacquiao’s biggest rival in the boxing scene. Pacquiao is considered to be one of the best “pound-for-pound” boxers in history, having been named an eight-division world champion and winning linear championships in five different weight classes, as per a separate Celebrity Net Worth report.

Pacquiao earned a hefty $448 million throughout his 25-year career before taxes and fees, which was made even more lucrative by his shares from Pay-Per-View, live gate, merchandise and sponsorships, according to Esquire. But the Filipino fighter’s highest-earning match was against Mayweather, where Pacquaio earned a massive $120 million reward despite losing the game, Bleacher Report pointed out.

The meeting between the two millionaire athletes happened as Pacquiao was preparing for his welterweight championship match against Errol Spence Jr. “Nice to have @KlayThompson at Wild Card Gym today! I told Klay I would teach him how to fight if he’ll teach me how to shoot,” the boxing superstar wrote on Twitter.

During their encounter, the boxing champ gifted Thompson with a Team Pacquiao jacket for visiting him at the gym, Inquirer has learned.
