Lopez is best known as an entertainment journalist in the show “Extra,” but he started his path towards stardom appearing in commercials when he was 10 years old. He then took up small roles in sitcoms and movies until his biggest break as AC Slater in the popular 80s sitcom, “Saved by the Bell.”

He has since booked other roles on television, before finding much success as a host.

Transitioning from acting, Lopez has hosted the “The X factor,” “America's Best Dance Crew” and “Extra.” He also recently hosted the 69th Miss Universe held in Florida.

Lopez has built a fortune over the years. According to Celebrity Net Worth, his net worth is estimated at $25 million. He also reportedly earns an annual salary of $6 million from hosting "Extra."

Lopez also published a children's book called “Mario and Baby Gia” which focuses on his relationship with his daughter.

In 2014, the actor bought a home in Burbank, California for $1.25 million. In 2010, he acquired a Spanish-style home in Glendale for $1.95 million.
