A new season of “Married at First Sight” is upon us, and Season 8 will bring even more awkward weddings. The couples meet at the altar, and they have to decide if they will kiss moments after meeting each other on the Lifetime reality show. In an exclusive International Business Times clip, seen above, one groom asks a friend for advice.

The video shows both Kate and Luke looking for their wedding day attire. Kate is shopping with a group of women as she looks for her dream dress. She especially wants to make a good impression since she’ll meet Luke for the first time at the altar.

Luke, meanwhile, brings his friend Christina to help him pick out a touch. He wants a woman’s opinion. The groom reveals that his parents are skeptical, and he says that he doesn’t want to be married more than once. He’s expecting this marriage to work, but that doesn’t mean he’s not nervous.

“Oh God,” Luke says to Christina. “Do I have to kiss her on the lips?”

“You have to kiss the bride,” she says.

“Not frenching, for sure,” Luke says.

“Married at First Sight” Season 8 premieres Tuesday, Jan. 1. The matchmaking special airs at 8 p.m. EST followed by the two-hour season premiere.

“MAFS,” produced by Kinetic Content, is getting even bigger in 2019. There will be four Philadelphia couples, rather than the usual three, in the new episodes. The fourth husband and wife will mark the 25th couple matched on “Married at First Sight.” Several have gotten divorced, but a handful are still together.
