American media mogul Martha Stewart turns 76 Thursday. A self-made billionaire, she has gained success through a number of business ventures that include publishing, broadcasting, merchandising and e-commerce.

The multi-faceted businesswoman has also written many bestselling books including “Martha Stewart's Quick Cook,” “The Wedding Planner,” “Martha Stewart's Quick Cook Menus,” and “Martha Stewart's Christmas,” among others.

Stewart has also hosted two popular syndicated television shows, “Martha” (2005 to 2012), and “Martha Stewart Living” (1993 to 2005). Her magazine that also has the same name as the television show, "Martha Stewart Living,” is also extremely popular. It enjoyed a readership of 8,360,000 as of 2016. Both the T.V. show and the magazine focused on domestic arts including home decoration and cooking.

In 2004, however, her reputation suffered a setback after she was convicted of four felony charges — conspiracy, obstruction of justice, giving false statements, and committing perjury. She was imprisoned for five months in a federal prison, followed by five months of confinement in her home.
