Matt Damon caused a commotion in the Brooklyn Heights neighborhood when he moved his things to his luxurious penthouse there.

On Tuesday, "The Martian" actor closed down an entire street in Brooklyn Heights during his move to his apartment. An enormous crane that reached over 14 stories was spotted lifting his furniture and a host of trees onto his terrace.

"He closed off the street all day and parked an enormous big red crane right in the middle of the street," an insider was quoted as saying by Page Six.

"There was no sign of Matt, but he had a huge team of contractors and there were shrubs, decking and huge crates filled with stuff going up in the air to the terrace. We were all waiting for the grand piano to be wheeled out."

The local resident also shared a few details about Damon's luxurious apartment.

"We call the building the Standoffish because it is a little bit of Hollywood dumped in the middle of the more low-key Brooklyn Heights. The lobby is all gold and marble, and the units have Austrian white oak flooring and Italian Carrara marble slab countertops," the insider explained.

"It is the highest building in the neighborhood, so it has unobstructed views of the Manhattan skyline, New York Harbor and the bridges."

Damon has a triplex penthouse on the 11th and 12th floors and the roof. He also has famous neighbors nearby, including Emily Blunt and John Krasinski.

Meanwhile, a few weeks back, Damon crashed Jimmy Kimmel's show while the host was making a big announcement. Kimmel announced at the time that he would be taking a break from the show to be with his family.

Suddenly, Damon appeared behind the host wearing a robe. After a few minutes, Kimmel’s wife, Molly McNearney, came out also wearing a robe.

“Why is my wife in the room?” Kimmel asked Damon.

“Why do you think she's in the room?” Ben Affleck’s BFF answered.

“We’re going to take a break now. I’m sorry I had to see that. I am going to get a divorce and we’ll be back with Pharrell Williams,” the host said.

The two celebrities’ bickering entertained the audience. Damon and Kimmel’s faux feud has been going on for years. The two are actually very good friends.
