Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz is a married man after eloping with Ginger Luckey in a small ceremony on Catalina Island off the coast of California.

Gaetz, 39, confirmed his marital status on Saturday night when he tweeted a photo of himself and Luckey along with the caption, “I love my wife!”

Aside from Sergio Gor, a former staff member for Sen. Rand Paul, the wedding lacked guests with political affiliations. Instead, Gaetz had a low-key event with about 30 friends “from normal life.”

Gaetz reportedly cooked for the attendees. The menu featured grilled vegetables, BBQ chicken legs, and watermelon salad.

On Sunday, Gaetz shared a photo of the couple on the campaign trail and gushed about his new wife.

“On one of my amazing Wife’s final days as a fiancé, she was right there with me campaigning in Iowa. It is pure joy to walk through life with ⁦ @LuckeyGinger,” he tweeted.

Gaetz was in Iowa on Thursday alongside Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., to speak at a rally that pushed false claims that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from former President Donald Trump.

Luckey and Gaetz met in March 2020 at Kimberly Guilfoyle’s 51st birthday party. After less than one year of dating, Gaetz proposed to Luckey on Dec. 30 at Mar-a-Lago.

Prior to eloping, Luckey previously told the Daily Mail she and Gaetz were “flexible” about their wedding planning and could get married soon or in a couple of years.

Gaetz and Luckey’s nuptials come amid the Justice Department investigation into sex trafficking allegations against the Republican, including a probe into whether he started a relationship with a woman while she was still a minor.

Gaetz, who was elected to Congress in 2016, has denied the accusations.
