The Mega Millions jackpot will continue to climb after the Friday night lottery drawing did not yield a winner. The grand prize would have been $169 million with a cash value of $93.2 million.

The winning Mega Millions numbers for Friday were 39, 40, 52, 60, and 67, with a gold Mega Ball of 20. The Megaplier was 2X.

Following the latest lottery drawing, one player became an instant millionaire. A ticket holder from New York hit the Match 5 and won $1 million.

If the player had hit the Match 5 with the 2X Megaplier, they would have won a $2 million payout.

The next Mega Millions drawing will be worth an estimated $191 million, with a cash option of $105.3 million. The numbers will be drawn on Tuesday.

Aside from the lone instant millionaire from the Friday night lottery pull, there were several other small prizes. Twelve players hit the Match 4 plus the gold Mega Ball and won $10,000 each.

However, only one of those players hit the Match 4 plus the gold Mega Ball with a 2X Megaplier purchase, winning $20,000. The other Mega Millions wins from the night ranged between $2 and $1,000.

The latest jackpot comes as the $1.34 billion grand prize from the July 29 drawing remains unclaimed. The ticket, which was purchased in Des Plaines, Illinois, has a cash value of $780.5 million.

While the player has 12 months to claim the prize, they have less time to choose whether they want to receive a lump sum or an annuity.

"Lotto, Mega Millions, and Powerball winners have 60 days after the date of the drawing to choose the cash option or annual payments," the Illinois Lottery's Winner's Handbook states.

The player has until the end of September to come forward or a decision will be made for them.

"Failure to choose a payment option within the 60-day time period will automatically result in annuity payments," the handbook states.

Mega Millions winners who receive the annuity receive one immediate payment, followed by 29 annual payments that increase by 5% each year.

Mega Millions can be played in 45 states, as well as the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands.
