Meghan Markle asked Kate Middleton to appear on her "Archetypes" podcast, royal expert Neil Sean has claimed.

Sean claimed in a video posted on his YouTube channel that the Duchess of Sussex extended the invitation while she and Prince Harry were in England for Queen Elizabeth's funeral.

"While Meghan was over here, staying in Windsor at their cottage, she put out a request to the Princess of Wales, according to that good source, to appear on a forthcoming episode of 'Archetypes,'" he said, as per ET Canada.

"It, kind of, makes sense if you think. In Meghan's eyes, this is because she based it along the idea of two Duchesses, as they then were at that point, and of course talking about how difficult it is to run a family, work-life and work balance," he added.

It remains unknown whether the Princess of Wales will grace the invitation. If she does, then she will be Markle's most high-profile guest on her podcast yet.

Sean also noted that Markle might even dedicate an entire episode to her conversation with Middleton — a break from the usual "Archetypes" format where she features different guests in a single episode.

The invitation for Middleton to appear in her podcast might have been driven by the desire of Markle's team to get high ratings, according to Sean. He added that while it remains unclear how Markle relayed the invitation to Middleton, the talks between the Princess of Wales and her team were "progressing."

"If you recall back with that particular interview, she claimed that she was willing to forgive and move forward," he said.

He revealed that Markle has yet to hear from Middleton regarding the invitation but she understands that she might only be able to fit the podcast into her schedule when she returns to the U.S. later this month for Earthshot.

Prince William and Middleton will attend the Earthshot Prize awards ceremony in Boston on Dec. 2. The royal couple confirmed their attendance at the event through a Twitter post earlier this month.

"The @EarthshotPrize is back and this year, we're heading to Boston! Five more winners. Game-changing solutions. More potential to save our planet. Boston, we'll see you in December," they wrote.
